June 20-26 Petting Zoo / Top Golf / Dinner @ Tina's

GARDNER VILLAGE PETTING ZOO

For a family activity, Nate and I took Ruby to the little petting zoo they have at Gardner Village next to our house. It's a nonprofit organization that runs it. They provide shelter and care to animals that have been abused or neglected. We didn't know this when we went and there was one poor lamb that was coughing up a lung, then we looked in one of the shelters on the side that the animals can go in to get out of the heat, and there was a dead lamb just laying there. It was really sad. It must have just happened because we told the lady running it that it was there and she didn't know. She said it was probably the one that had leukemia.

Ruby loved it! She kept telling the one that was coughing, "you ok?". It even tried to eat her hat. She is such a sweet, caring girl.

They had all kinds of animals there including: ponies, horses, cows, pigs, alpacas, sheep, and chickens.

TOP GOLF

We went to Top Golf as a family. They have these tiny golf clubs that kids can use. Nathan tried showing her how to use them but she mostly loved just throwing the balls into the grass and skipping the clubs all together.

We got ice cream at arctic circle. They have cute courtesy cones for kids. It was just her size.

Later we went to the playground and instead of playing in it, Nathan chased Ruby up and down the hill next to it.

SUNDAY DINNER AT TINA'S

At our Sunday dinner at Tina's, Ruby got into her cute swimming pool for a bit while everyone else played some Spikeball.

Our Hansen Sunday photo #36.

A light up "lips" Ruby stole from Aunt Tina's house.

My Mom sent me some photos from when they had a combined birthday party for everyone's birthdays in June at my Grandma and Grandpa Christensen's house.

Cute Emi!

Reverting back to binky days.

Watching our sweet girl read books from the comfort of our bed. Nate, don't even try to hide those raptor toes!

Ruby loves to type on my computer any chance she gets. Looking so professional here.

These pictures have a funny story behind them. Nathan and his siblings came over for dinner one night and we ended up having a Sonic The Hedgehog gaming session. After that day I got way into it and wanted to beat the game. It became my mission. I found out a way to rack up a bunch of lives in one of the beginning levels which would help me get really far. Nate thought it was hilarious that I was so obsessed, he would take a picture of me whenever he caught me playing and send it to all his siblings. I told him to stop sending them because it was embarrassing that I was spending so much time on it, but he didn't listen!

Here's the pictures he took...

June 13-19 Trellis Cafe / Ruby Dental Visit / Father's Day

GIRL'S LUNCH AT TRELLIS CAFE

Wednesday, all of us Frei side of the family girls that live in Utah now got together for a little lunch. We ate at the Trellis Cafe at Thanksgiving Point. Ashley organized it since she is going to have her baby soon!

RUBY'S 2ND DENTAL VISIT

While brushing Ruby's teeth the last few weeks, Nate and I both noticed she was getting small brown spots in the pits of her molars that just came in. I knew from looking at them that they were cavities so I made an appointment with Burg Pediatric Dentistry on Vine Street in Murray.

I was really worried about taking her in because I knew she wasn't going to let the dentist look in her mouth without a fight, and I was right. He held her head on his lap while I held her legs and she cried and screamed the whole time. He said they are cavities on the biting surface of the teeth and that in order to fill them they would need to put her under anesthesia and they would do it in a medical suite. I knew that would be the case and was really not looking forward to it. We got her scheduled for the appointment. They only had 2 dates available and they were both about a month away. I felt good about that since I knew it was going to be something I'd need to prep myself for emotionally!

I felt really embarrassed though since I am a hygienist, she shouldn't ever get cavities, right? The dentist said it's most likely due to the fact that I still nurse her during the night. :(

Ruby was really happy after though because they gave her a purple balloon and a red cape.

FATHER'S DAY

Sunday was Father's Day. We went to church, then spent the rest of the day at Tina's house. I honestly don't remember what we did for Nathan and neither does he. I'm sure we showered him with hugs and kisses! We love Daddy!

I don't know how Nate managed to get no photos taken of him on Father's Day! That sneaky kid!

It was so funny, I had a drink in my cup holder and Ruby was trying to get some but Razzi was all up in her business. She waved her finger at her and when that didn't work she...put her finger over the straw opening...when that didn't work she...just pushed Razzi's face out of the way!

My little snuggle bug.

She knows how to climb the bars going up to the slide at the playground all by herself! She's growing up too fast!

My curious, crazy girl!

One of Ruby's favorite things to do is sit or lay inside Daddy's Ikea clothes hamper and have him swing her. Again, again, again! It could last all day long!

Nate was watching Ruby one day and trying to get her to take a nap. She wanted to be in the closet while she watched her show. It was completely dark in the closet so he took a picture with the flash and here's what he got. This picture makes me laugh every time because for one...look at her hair- she looks like she's wearing a weird wig, two...it reminds me of the picture of Sasquatch where he is walking through the forest and gets his picture taken!

June 6-12 Splash Pad / Ikea / Gardner Village / Frei Dinner

SPLASH PAD & PARK

Ruby and I went for the first time to a splash pad this week! I had heard all about them but never got around to actually going to one. The one we went to is called Mountain View Park up in Fort Union. It has a splash pad, a big kid playground, a little kid playground, and a bunch of fields and paved walking areas.

It seemed like she may still be a little young because the spraying water scared her. There were a lot of big kids too that weren't being very careful around the little ones. She still had fun though.

We went twice this week. We loved it so much we brought Ashley and Maile Frei. It was SO hot!

IKEA W/ ARIEL & HER BOYS

Ariel and I like to meet up at Ikea to have lunch with the kids and let them play in the kids area. We did that this week.

GARDNER VILLAGE

Ruby, Nate, and I went and had lunch at Gardner Village.

FREI FAMILY SUNDAY DINNER

We did our Frei family dinner at Brenda & Louie's this month. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside on the grass and Great Grandma Frei took Ruby and Maile for a run!

FaceTiming with Grandma Hansen.

We have a unique sleeping situation. Ruby sleeps with us so to have more room we put 2 queens together instead of trying to all fit on a king (which seems like it would still be too small). It has worked really well.

Sleeping beauties.

A penny for your thoughts, Ruby?

Always trying on Mommy's shoes.
