August 29-September 4 Boyz II Men Concert

BOYZ II MEN CONCERT

It was one of my best friend Karly Paulson's 29th birthday on August 29th. To celebrate we bought tickets to go see the Boyz II Men concert in Orem at the Scera Outdoor Theater with Ariel D. It was fun even though I never really listened to them growing up. Karly and especially Ariel were freaking out!

August 22-28 Moving Day / Setting Up New House

MOVING DAY

The day has finally come! It's moving day!

I was in a mad dash getting all the loose odds and ends packed away into random boxes. At that point I didn't care about being an organized packer, I was just shoving things into boxes for the movers to put into the moving truck.

We hired movers and I am SO glad we did! They had all the materials and know-how to get things moved properly. Not to mention we didn't have to beg all our family and friends to come help us! You don't realize how much crap you have until you move...I even got rid of a bunch of stuff while I was packing and we still have a ton.

ISCH'S EYE INFECTION

The only thing that didn't go smoothly that day was my eye situation. A few days back Ruby was being silly and swatted at my eye. She got me with her fingernail right in my eyeball. Right after it happened I looked down at her fingernails and they were long, needed to be trimmed and had dirt under them. I thought, "I really hope I don't get an eye infection from this!" Sadly, the day we were moving my eye started oozing green stuff. I called my insurance that day and there was an opening that same day for an appointment in 20 mins at a nearby Ophthalmologist! Peggy, Ruby and I jumped in the car and headed over there. Ruby fell asleep on the way there so I went in while Peggy stayed in the car to let Ruby sleep.

Sure enough, I had an eye infection. They put me on some antibiotic eyedrops. We had to run to Costco to get the prescription, this turned out to be an all day ordeal. Thankfully we had hired movers and Scott and Peggy were there to help with Ruby!

At Costco waiting to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy for my eyes. Ruby spotted these gigantic bears to snuggle.

Next round of unpacking and moving at the new place...

Our realtors gave us a huge house warming gift basket. They even remembered little Ruby. They got her some bubbles!

One of the first things Nate did when we got into our new place...

IKEA

We are so lucky to have such great family. Nate's parents, Mark, Kendra, Shad, Tina, Zac, Mike and Hannah came to help us set up our house! They hauled stuff, they set up couches, they cleaned, they helped unpack boxes and organize, and they set up all the electronic stuff. I honestly don't know what we would have done without them!

SETTING UP THE NEW HOUSE

Shad was very helpful, he kept Ruby entertained while we worked.

MARK EMPEY'S 54TH BIRTHDAY

Mark's birthday was on Sunday so they celebrated by going to his favorite sushi place called Fuji Japanese Steakhouse. It was my cousins going away party so I went to that instead, but Nathan took Ruby with him.

REBECCA FREI'S GOING AWAY PARTY

My cousin has been staying at my Grandma Frei's house for all of July and August. She is leaving to do a BYU Study Abroad in Jerusalem for 4 months, she will be back in December. Grandma threw her a going away party at her house and had all the cousins and family in the area come.
