December 26-31 Sledding / Dinner & Games w/ Hansen's & Frei's / Snowshoeing / Cross Country Skiing

SLEDDING!

We got a bunch of family together and went sledding at Daybreak Elementary School.

After sledding for a bit we went over to the schools playground and swung on the swings and chatted. Ruby could have stayed there all day.

DINNER & GAMES W/ BOTH SETS OF GRANDPARENTS

Monday night Scott, Peggy, Mike. Hannah and Zac came over to see us. Peggy and Scott also wanted to drop off all our Christmas presents especially Ruby's. They gave her several things but the ones that stood out were, a Minnie Mouse sleeping bag with a pillow, a Curious George stuffed animal, and a Frosty the Snowman book.

Later we played a game Lindy gave to my Mom and Dad for Christmas called Telestrations. It was so fun! You get a booklet and a word that you draw, then you pass it to the person sitting on your left, they have to look at the picture and write what they think you drew, then they pass it to the next person and they draw what you wrote and so on until it gets back to you. At the end you share with the group your booklet and see how close the original word comes to the word written at the end. It's kind of like when you play telephone.

I was sitting next to Zac who was sitting next to Scott. I got some really really interesting drawings and words...

Here's one of Nate's cute drawings of a pig bowling. :)

Peggy and Scott have been eating a certain way for a while now and gave us the book about it to read. It's called 'The Healthiest Diet on the Planet' by Dr. McDougall. Since they have been following this way of eating Peggy has lost about 40 pds and feels great. It's a diet that Dr. McDougall says if followed degenerative diseases can be prevented. It's a low-fat, whole foods, plant-based vegan diet- especially based on starches which excludes animal foods and added vegetable oils.
They wrote us this letter that goes with it.

BREAKFAST AT DENNY'S + SCHEELS

We went to Scheels looking for cross country skiing clothes for my Mom. Ruby is just a smidge away from being able to ride the ferris wheel! Grow baby grow!

SNOWSHOEING

My parents, Lindy, and Grandma Frei went snowshoeing! I couldn't go since I'm very very pregnant but they said it was beautiful and they took these pictures while they were out...

The day started out really well but ended not so great. My Grandma had a couple falls in the snow and ended up in the emergency room with a broken wrist! She had to get a cast on but is expected to recover completely. It stinks to have a cast on though!!

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING

My parents, Lindy, Nathan, and Zac went cross country skiing at the Nordic Ski Center up at Brighton. I couldn't go again but I'm glad they had a great time and got to enjoy something they don't get to do very often up in Washington. Someday I would love to try it out.
