WASHINGTON TRIP CONTINUED...
FEELING A LITTLE BETTER
Poor Ruby took a few days to start feeling better. We got outside to get some fresh air since the day was beautiful and it was the perfect temperature. She soaked in the sun. My parents have a little water faucet off the front walkway. I gave Ruby some cups, a plate and a lemon to wash. She sat and did that for a long time.
ISABEL'S PICTURE DAY
My Aunt Tawny called me and asked if I would have time to do Isabel's hair before she went to school for picture day. I felt honored! I didn't do much, I just curled it and put a barrette in it. She's such a cute girl!
PIONEER PARK & THE ROOT BEER STORE
My Mom is apart of a painting group that she provides grids for the painters to display their painted pieces on. She sets them up and takes them down at the Puyallup Fair every year. Ruby and I went with her to take them down. After, we went to a park nearby called Pioneer Park. She still wasn't feeling great so she didn't play long.
We stopped by The Root beer store in Puyallup. We didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be all the different flavors of root beer you could possibly imagine. They were in the middle of remodeling, they were adding a pizza and ice cream area.
We picked out a bunch of different types of root beer and decided we would have a taste testing with everyone.
PUERTO VALLARTA
We went to dinner at my all time favorite Mexican restaurant, Puerto Vallarta with Paula, Chris and their kids, Amy and Ian Young. It was fun to catch up with them.
MANCHESTER BEACH
Spent some time at Manchester beach to play in the sand and water. We invited the Horschman family to join us. Ruby was still feeling crummy so she watched from the sidelines most of the time.
PLAYING OUTSIDE / PUMPKIN TREE
For the last few years my Mom started a new tradition where she hangs pumpkin baskets from the tree in front of their house, fills them with candy and invites kids from our ward to stop by and trick or treat from them. It is such a fun idea and Ruby loved it.
RUBY'S WA BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION + ROOT BEER TASTE TESTING
We did our root beer taste testing at Aubrey and Shay's house. At this point my stomach wasn't feeling very good so I wasn't able to participate much. Everyone else took it very seriously, Shay used post-it notes to rate them from 1-5 and in the end they decided on the best one. I don't remember which one it was.
We had a little birthday celebration for Ruby that same night. We bought a Dairy Queen ice cream cake and it was delicious! Can't believe our baby is 2 already!
PUMPKIN TREE WITH EMI
Right before we left for the airport the Horschman's stopped by with cute little Emi. They came down to trick or treat on the Halloween tree. Ruby and Emi are only 4 months apart!
Saying goodbye. :(
Heading to the airport. Bye Grammie!
RANDOM PICS FROM OUR TRIP...
Painting with water on special paper Tawny and Ryan got my Mom from Japan. It dries blank so you can use it over and over.
At Shay and Aubrey's playing with all their animals.
Shopping for treats for the Halloween tree. Ruby wanted a whole bag to herself.
KENDRA'S BIRTHDAY!
Kendra Empey's birthday is on the 1st of October. We all went to Mark and Kendra's favorite for dinner, Fuji Japanese Steakhouse.
RUBY'S UTAH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Since Ruby and I were out of town till the day before her birthday, I assigned all the prep to Nathan and his family. They got all the tablecloths, balloons, decorations and food. They did a wonderful job! Nate even bought Ruby a cute crown to wear! He is such a good Daddy!
Before the party started we decorated for Halloween. Tina gave me a bunch of her old Halloween decorations so we put them all up. Ruby especially liked the blowup skeleton and coffin.

We kept things simple and did fall soups and a salad and the games on the agenda were Ring Around the Rosie, Duck Duck Goose and a freeze dance party. Ruby was thrilled when everyone participated!
Also after all was said and done with the party, we went outside and played a few rounds of lightening and Ruby played a little with the neighbor kids.
Some of the gifts she received were (there are a lot I'm not remembering, I'm sure):
A play kitchen with food and accessories- from Mom & Dad
Lots of little things- from Grammie & P-pa while we were in WA
A Little Tikes car- from G&G Hansen
A blue cheerleader pom-pom- from Hannah & Mike
A drawing & painting isle- from Aunt Tina
A farm sound puzzle & play dough set- from Aiden & Braxton Empey
Some cute clothes- from Karly P.
Here's Ruby a few days later thanking Tina for her isle. Yep, we misspelled Thank...it's Thak now.

Checking out her new car from G&G Hansen and her play kitchen from Mom and Dad.
It turned out to be such a cute party. Nathan and I can't believe she is 2 already! She cracks us up every single day and Nate and I couldn't imagine life without her.
A sweet card Uncle Jake, Aunt Kory and Addalyn sent to Ruby for her birthday!
