October 31-November 6 Hawaii Continued / Halloween / Dinner w/ Derek & Ashley / Pinners Conference / Frei Dinner

HAWAII CONTINUED...

DAY 7- LAST DAY IN HAWAII

PENGUIN FEEDING

Everyday they have a penguin feeding. Ruby loved watching the penguins run around and swim to get the fish.

Shopping at a mall for a souvenir t-shirt.

One last Hawaiian shave ice! So good!

HO'OKIPA LOOKOUT ONE LAST TIME...

We really loved watching the surfers at Ho'okipa Lookout and we had a little time to spare before we needed to be at the airport so we ran over there and watched the surfers from the bluff above.

There was a surfer with a bunch of young coconuts in the back of his truck that he was selling. We bought two and he put a bamboo straw in each one. The juice was pretty good.

This guy was all dressed up for Halloween, he looked pretty gnarly.

He had a dog that was so sweet and just laid around, Ruby loved him.

Our last adventure before we had to head to the airport was running down to the beach below and seeing the sea turtles resting on the beach.

HEADING HOME

The flight home was miserable. We thought taking a red eye would be perfect because we could all sleep on the flight and when we woke up we would be home. That was not the case. Ruby couldn't get comfortable so she kept squirming, waking up and never really stayed asleep. Nate and I both didn't sleep a wink. I was so uncomfortable because....well pregnancy...and my legs were swelling. Needless to say, we were all so happy to get home and take a long nap.

A collage of all the yummy food we ate!

HALLOWEEN

It was weird being in a tropical place the week before Halloween. People decorated their houses and put pumpkins out just like back at home but it just felt different because it wasn't cold and the air wasn't crisp. Some of the locals told us that on Halloween night the city of Lahaina hosts one of the largest Halloween parties in Hawaii, they even call it the "Mardi Gras of the Pacific". Front Street closes to traffic to allow all the costumed visitors to walk freely down the street to enjoy all the different festivities held there.

We were traveling home on Halloween so we didn't dress up. But here's a few from the family that did...

DINNER WITH DEREK, ASHLEY, MAILE & BABY GABBY

PINNERS CONFERENCE

Every year I love to go to the Pinners Conference. This year I went with Ariel, Karly and Ruby. Maskcara was there that's the biggest reason I wanted to go. I got a few things I'd been wanting and I even ran into an old friend, Marcela, she is married to Erick Miner who was one of Sara Riddle's good friends who we hung out with a lot when she lived in Utah.

FREI FAMILY DINNER

Karen and Steve were in town so we all got together for a Frei family dinner. It's always fun to see everyone all together in one place!
